The British Air Mail Society (BAMS) formerly the British Aerophilatelic Federation (BAeF) was founded in 1985 and incorporates the Aero Philatelic Club, London (1923) and the British Air Mail Society (1958).

The BAMS caters for anybody who has an interest in airmails of whatever period on a worldwide basis.

All aero subjects are catered for including Air Mail History, Air Letters, Internal and External flights, Individual Airlines, Air Mail stamps, First Flights, Crash Mail, Balloons, Zeppelins, and much much more.

As well as Society Meetings in London, we have meetings of 6 Regional Groups. Details are available here.

Air Mail News

BAMS publishes the Journal Air Mail News 4 times a year and it is available free to members.

The Membership fee is £15 for all members both in U.K and Overseas. Payment details are available here. Providing that they have issued the membership secretary with an e-mail address, all members receive an e-mail annually providing them with a username and password to enable them to download Air Mail News from a password protected folder that is accessible via the 'Air Mail News Journal' page. Members wishing to receive the Air Mail News in booklet form have to pay a supplement of an additional £15 to cover its production and postage. (Note that the supplement is £10 less than last year.)

The Imperial Airways Gazette is published by the Imperial Airways Study Group and is now generally available.

Auction

The Auction catalogue is available to all via the Auction page with the last auction closing at midnight on 1st October 2023. Lots for future auctions are required.

The British Air Mail Society is affiliated to:

• The Association of British Philatelic Societies
• The Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies

A page showing studies by Society members is under construction. There are currently four studies, two by Peter Wingent, one by Richard Beith and one by Alan Fisher. Members are encouraged to send further articles.
